Positive Pay System (PPS)

We would like to inform you that from January 1, 2021, RBI has advised banks to make the facility of Positive Pay available to customers issuing high value cheques.
What is Positive Pay System?
RBI has introduced Positive Pay System to further augment customer safety in cheque payments and reduce instances of fraud occurring on account of tampering of cheque leaves. With this process, the issuer of the cheque will be required to submit certain minimum cheque details (such as date, instrument number, amount, etc.) to the drawee (issuing) bank. The details of the cheque will be verified with the presented cheque by Cheque Truncation System (CTS), and any discrepancy will be flagged to the drawee bank and presenting bank for redressal measures.

With reference to the above, you are required to provide the cheque details issued by you (viz. cheque date, 6-digit cheque number, amount, beneficiary name) by visiting your nearest bank branch on the same day as issued by you or before it is handed over to the beneficiary
Accordingly, Janakalyan Sahakari Bank introduces a mechanism of Positive Pay for all cheques of value ₹ 5,00,000 and above. Through Positive Pay, cheques will be processed for payment by the drawee bank based on information passed on by its customer at the time of issuance of the cheque.
There are various modes through which customers can update the Bank on the issuance of the cheque under Positive Pay System
>> Click Here to Enter/Update the issued Cheque details under Positive Pay System
>> Through Using Positive Pay System – Android Mobile App
>> Contact the nearest Branch, fill in the necessary Application Form and submit the same to the Branch
>> You need to share the following details of the issued cheque at least 24 working hours before the cheque is presented in the clearing.
>> When the payee submits the cheque for realization via CTS clearing, details (account number, 6 digit cheque number and cheque amount) will be validated which have been provided to the Bank through Positive Pay.
>> Positive Pay System enables an additional security layer to the cheque clearing process.
